You MUST answer ALL the questions in the handout. Use the links below to make sure that you have completed the assignment.

• Check what style or period of art your artist is associated with by going to http://www.artcyclopedia.com/ Enter in your artist's name and it will bring you to the page for that artist. Under the name is the style or art period. If you click that link, it will bring you to another site that defines it. If not, check the links below.
• Definitions of Styles and Periods of Art:

• Define that style from Thinkquest.org Define the style and find out what artists painted that way on this easy to read and understand website.
• Art Dictionary - definitions of styles, movements, media
• Art History 101 - by periods, good definitions and examples
• Art Periods - definitions and examples of art styles and period

• What is the subject of the art? Is it landscape, portraits, abstract, religious? Look at the art and research to answer this question.

• Describe the medium your artist uses. Look at the label information for the art - does the artist make paintings, sculptures or prints? What kind of paint? Be specific. If you don't understand what the medium your artist uses is, look it up below.
