        - Develop an understanding of the realities of early colonial life in the Jamestown Colony; challenge some common misconceptions about John Smith and Pocahontas; & learn about the key factors that ultimately led to the success of Jamestown and other English colonies. 

        - Learn about this year's Genius Hour project, brainstorm a set of Genius Hour topics, and begin working on a topic proposal.
