Today, you will...   

        - Analyze the literary elements of The Outsiders and synthesize the relationships between its characters, themes, and symbols.

        - Write an essay that makes an analytical claim (thesis) about The Outsiders, and proves that claim through discussion and textual evidence.

        - Understand and analyze how the world was irrevocably changed when Europeans came to the "new world" by studying the era known as the Columbian Exchange.
