        - Plan and write a literary essay that shows a complex analysis of the novel, The Outsiders.  

        - Construct body paragraphs that use textual evidence and explanation to prove a thesis statement.  

        - Discover & understand how the geography of North America (and the people who settled there) influenced the IDENTITY of the colonies that would eventually become the United States.
