        - Jamestown & Pocahontas 

        - The Outsiders - The Essay (thesis and introductions)

        Homework:   Scuba book due 10/15.

Today, you will...    

        - Show a complex understanding of the relationship between characters, themes and symbols in The Outsiders through a literary essay. 

        - Learn how to choose a literary essay topic and begin the planning process for an essay. 

        - Begin to learn about life in early Jamestown and why the colony would eventually be successful.
