Artist Study- Study the work of Claude Monet.
Getting technical- Learn about how to choose appropriate paint, paper and implements to adapt and extend their work. Carry out preliminary studies, test media and materials and mix appropriate colours. Create shades and tints using black and white. Explore how Claude Monet used light and colour to create impressions of River Thames.
Imitate the artist- Imitate the work of Claude Monet by attempting to recreate one of his detailed water colour paintings. Investigate the painting style of Monet and in particular the way in which he captured light reflecting on water.
Become the artist- Create a detailed water colour painting of a place of your choice. This could be done as part of a trip.
Evaluate- Evaluate the final piece.
Artist Study- Study the work of L.S. Lowry.
Getting technical- Learn about how paintings are created (composition). Carry out preliminary studies, test media and materials and mix appropriate colours.
Imitate the artist- Imitate the work of L.S Lowry by creating/ finishing one of his urban landscapes using water colour paint and sketching pencils.
Become the artist- Create a3D model of one of the figures from Lowey's urban landscapes. Once made, all the models can be put together to create a 3D version of one of his paintings. Create the model from plaster of paris. Create the sculptur with increasing independence
