Artist Study- Study the work of Hannah Hoch/ Terry Gilliam.

Imitate the artist- Imitate the work of Hannah Hoch/ Terry Gilliam. Add detailed collage to a painted, printed or drawn background.
Become the artist- Use a range of media to create collages in your own distinctive style.

Artist Study- Study the work of Frida Kahlo.
Getting technical- Learn about aspects of her paintings including mood and colour . Study the self portraits of Frida Kahlo. They explore the proportions of the face and how the features are drawn into a portrait or self portrait in relation to one another. They then use this learning to sketch a proportional self portrait.
Imitate the artist- Imiate the work of Frida Kahlo by thinking about cultural identity and how Kahlo expressed hers in her paintings and clothing. Using this to inspire them the children reflect on their own identity and express this in their own self portraits.
Getting technical- Describe the aspects of the surrealist movement. Express opinion of the surrealism in paintings. Apply aspects of surrealism to own artwork.
Become the artist- Children explore how Kahlo painted important moments throughout her life, telling a story of how she felt during these times. They have the chance to think about why she chose to paint at particular moments in her life and use this to reflect on their own lives and any memories they would like to illustrate. Explain what an autobiographical artist does Identify emotions from a painting. Express emotions though own artwork
