Set challenges
Learn to understand the similarities between throwing and rolling the ball underarm to the forehand shot.
Take part in exercises which continue to develop their ability to play a forehand shot in tennis.
Children introduced to the term 'volley shot' and understand what is meant by the term 'volley'.
Children take part in activities to improve their ability to volley the ball, ensuring their stance is correct and when contact is made with the ball, the racket is facing up.
Children introduced to how they start a rally in tennis using a serve and practice serving to targets to increase their ability to perform the serve whilst thinking about accuracy.
Children take part in a number of activities which enable them to showcase all the skills they have learnt over the course of the term.
Learn basic actions and learn to copy simple movement patterns.
Respond to different stimuli and explore ways to reflect the stimulus in movement.
Learn different directions in dances.
Attempt directions in basic movement patterns.
