In terms 3 and 4 we will be building on the skills the children have already developed and supporting them to:
Recognise some environments that are different to the one in which they live (Arctic/Anarctic; Space)
Talk about members of their immediate family and community (Postman; Vicar; Farm shop)
Our RE learning will support children’s knowledge of people, culture and communities. Our RE focus for term 3 will be New Testament Stories – ‘Which stories are special and why?’ and in term 4, Salvation – ‘Why do Christians put a cross in an Easter garden?’. Through our adult directed learning in RE children learn to understand that some places are special to members of their community. They will begin to recognise that people have different beliefs and celebrate different times in different ways.
In terms 3 and 4 we will be building on the skills the children have already developed and supporting them to:
Describe what they see, hear and feel whilst outside (Bear Hunt walk; Spring walk)
Understand the effect of changing seasons on the natural world around them (Spring)
Draw information from simple maps (Bear hunt; The Jolly Postman)
Explore the natural world around them (Spring; Bear Hunt walk; Farm Shop visit)
In terms 3 and 4 we will be building on the skills the children have already developed and supporting them to:
Compare and contract characters from stories, including figures from the past (Roles in society - farmer, postman, vicar)
