House Council:
StudyShark → Past papers and content ready to post to help students with resources and study material.
Y11 Shadowing Programme → A chance for Y11 students to shadow the different departments in the house leadership teams through a weekly rotation for hands-on involvement, and so they can grasp a better idea of what role may suit them when it’s their time to be part of the leadership teams in Year 12.
Shtepi MaD Week
Shtepi MaD week ran from October 1st 2021 to October 8th 2021. Our goal was to raise funds and increase the awareness of world literacy, and to support the charity "Room to Read" (https://www.roomtoread.org/)
Book Donation (October 1st): Everyone at South Island School was encouraged to donate books they no longer read, and we were able to collect 1500+ books!!
Book Sale (October 5th): All the books we collected from the book donation were sold during this book sale, and were able to raise $3000 for Room to Read
Book Trivia (October 7th): The year 7s and 8s had book trivia to test their knowledge on popular books
Book Character Day (October 8th): Students could come to school dressed as their favorite book character
In total we raised $7000 for Room to Read!!!
