The Maison Leadership team is made up of 16 wonderful, hardworking Year 12s. You may recognise our slogan “bleed blue” which has famously been attached to this house for many years. We believe this phrase accurately represents our overarching goals for this house, which includes celebrating diversity, developing good sportsmanship and encouraging kindness to our peers. Our house as a whole may not be accustomed to winning, but we have the spirit, enthusiasm and grit like no other house. Below are the members of the Maison leadership team and the initiatives we run. Maison MaD Week

This year, the Maison MaD Council has incorporated an array of new initiatives to make active strides towards our common vision of inspiring permanent and long lasting change through the method of empowerment. We have decided to stray away from the financial aspect of making a difference by placing increased significance on the notion of intrinsic motivation. An example of this is Maison MaD Week which will commence in May with Save The Children on the topic of Child Abuse. Furthermore, we have also taken measures to encourage participation and maximum involvement in the school community and communities beyond the walls of SIS, in order to aid in the development of leadership skills in younger students. To offer augmented academic support during these unprecedented times, the Maison MaD Council has implemented a “Community Project Dragons Den Competition” for Year 10-11 students as a vehicle to aid in the promotion of student lead events. Last but not least, the Maison MaD Council has acted upon bridging the communication gap between junior and senior year students through the incorporation of fortnightly meetings and bi-monthly wellbeing postcards that is advocated by our responsible MaD Reps to acquire mutual understanding among all students, and overall construct a sense of community, safety and togetherness.

House Council Initiatives

This year our house council meetings have been focused on ways in which we can increase inclusivity and interconnectedness within Maison. Upon listening to feedback from our representatives we created a trio of clubs that focus on different areas of school life all lead by Maison students from years 11 and 12. Our clubs include ‘study hut’ where students can spend time on the academic aspects of school life, 'creative crafts' which is aimed to give students free time to express themselves through different creative endeavours, and finally 'fun with Maison', a club that allows for socialising and interactive games. These clubs are open to everyone in Maison and students have been enjoying it so far - we can’t wait to see some more students next term.

Publicity

One of our initiatives is to post questionnaires to find out any struggles you are facing at school. We will post weekly stories for encouragement and support during these trying times. We’ll provide advice and tips to help you! We want you all to stay connected during these times. If you have anything to share or just want to reach out, feel free to email any one of us or send a message through our Instagram @maisonminotaurs

Maison TV: Maison’s Village

The Maison Leadership Team is pleased to announce an all-new TV show called ‘Maison’s Village’. This show will feature fun, yet informative videos from our leadership team. It is our way of addressing and investigating issues within SIS in a light-hearted, comedic manner. It will also provide further insight into all our roles and responsibilities within the team. Look out for episodes of Maison Village coming soon!
