Bauhinia Leadership

At South Island School, we have effective leadership teams in place to ensure that students are able to build long-lasting relationships with one another and lay a firm foundation for their future. The Bauhinia Leadership team is an integral part of our school's learning system, that focuses on supporting younger year groups (Years 7-9) to experience a smooth and enjoyable transition from primary to secondary school. Students are given an array of opportunities to Make a Difference to themselves and to others around them from the moment they join SIS, from leadership roles around the school to serving the wider community. We also aim to establish a sense of community within Family Bauhinia early on. 'The Space' is an amazing school facility that encourages students to socialise with others not only from their year group, but also with our Year 13 Bauhinia Prefects. The facility also provides with various equipment, games and activities, and acts as both a positive learning and social environment. Through our strong support system, we empower our younger students to take initiative with their learning and aid them with their personal development, so they can become independent and caring individuals in the future.
