Click on Local Server
Make note of the Computer name (WIN-DTN8NK3U6VW) as you will need this later
3. Go to the Server's command prompt (click on the Start menu, bottom left-hand part of screen, type cmd
4. Type ipconfig /all (that's a space between the ipconfig and the /all)
5. Press enter
6. Record somewhere the:
a) Host name (if you haven't already)
b) IPv4 Address (this is the IP address of your server)
c) Subnet Mask
d) Default Gateway
e) DNS servers (IPv4) only
7. If the Server Manager is not on the screen, click the Start Menu and select it
8. Read and close this window
9. Click on the hyperlink: IPv4 address assigned by DHC, IPv6 enabled
10. Right-click on Ethernet
11. Properties
12. Uncheck IPv6
13. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)
14. Press the Properties button
15. Select 'Use the following IP address'
16. From Step 6 above, enter your information. It will be different from mine
17. Notice after you pressed tab or moved to the Subnet mask that it gives you a default address.
18. Change this to the one if your Step 6
19. Type in the rest of the details from your (Command Prompt)
20. Press OK
21. Press Close
22. Close this window
23. Press the Refresh button
24. Check the Ethernet has your IP address
25. Go to Tools
26. DNS
27. Click on Forward Lookup Zones
28. Right-click on Forward Lookup Zones
29. Select New Zone
(you will have other zones already created from the configuration process before)
30. Press Next
31. Keep it on Primary zone
32. Press Next
33. Middle selection
34. Press Next
35. Type in msftwebcast.com
36. Press Next
37. Select last option
38. Press Next
39. Finish
40. Select your newly created
41. You will have two entries as in my screenshot
42. Right-click on Reverse Lookup Zone
43. Select New Zone
44. Click Next
45. Keep it on Primary zone
46. Press Next
47. Keep it on IPv4
48. Press Next
49. Select either second option
50. Press Next
51. In the Network ID field
52. Only enter the first (3 octets) sets of position for your IPv4 Address (in my case 10.0.2)
53. Press Next
54. Select the last option
55. Press Next
56. Press Finish
57. Remember the Computer name you recorded?
58. It goes in the Name field plus (a hyphen) -dns01
59. Inside your Forward Lookup Zones
60. Select your newly created msftwebcast.com
61. On the right-hand side, right-click in the white space
62. Select New Host (A or AAAA)...
67. Press OK
68. Press Done
63. Type the full name of the domain that you created in Step 6
64. Enter the IP address that you recorded
65. Check the Create associated pointer (if it's not been clicked already)
66. Press Add Host
