What I bring to York College starts off with my character strength. I bring love
which I believe is very important within the community. Love brings joy which often
makes life on campus more enjoyable and comfortable. The idea of love could mean
something different to everyone but for me I see trust, loyalty, warmth, and safety.
The picture I took has several of the meanings that I think fit the word love, in the
picture you see a darkened edge which represents the warmth idea. Safety plays a lot
in the background where you see trees, because when you think of nature you most
likely think of safety or nurture.
When you think about the word love and coffee you’re probably thinking of a first
date scenery. Whether you are inside or outside the scenery is more than just a location
it’s something that two people share interest in and beyond a cup of coffee there is joy
within the date. Joy is spread through the positive energy in the scenery, you wouldn't
necessarily take your special someone to where it’s raining unless rain is a shared
interest, but beyond just coffee and a scenery it's about how the moment plays out. You
could lose track of time while having a deep conversation with someone, you could be
sharing crazy or special moments in your life, or just casually eating breakfast with
someone you love all over a cup of coffee which I would say is definitely something that
brings joy into your life.
When I think of love I think more of the family and romantic aspects which
include a lot more trust and loyalty. Trust becomes a main priority in family and
relationships, Relationships become easier when trust is involved and family should
revolve around dependability. Loyalty is big within both as well, for family loyalty is more
than just keeping true to your bloodline, it’s about the strong love bondage you have
with family. You wouldn't want to find another family if you loved the one you’re in. In
some cases families do fight but that's a hardship about love but in the end you still love
your family. In relationships loyalty is staying true to the one you love, loyalty comes in
boundaries, standards, and trust. Hopefully if you love someone you will want to respect
them and stay loyal to them because just like a family the bondage is what fabricates
love and emotion until broken.
