What do I bring?
Love and Hope
What did I Take a Picture of?
A gift from my dad, my stuffed bear
What Does it Represent?
When taking the VIA character strengths assessment I learned that my character strength is love. I am the type of person who values close relationships with people, and contribute to that closeness in a warm and genuine way.
3 years ago I experienced severe depression, I lost 20 pounds and was living in my own world. I thought no one cared about how I was feeling or what I was experiencing at the time.
My parents would many times talk to me or ask me to talk to them about how I was feeling but still I would think that they did not care for what I was going through.
Suddenly one day my dad knocked on the door of my room to give this very special teddy bear, the one I love the most. Ever since I was little I have loved stuffed animals and when he gave me that teddy bear he reminded me that I am loved, that he cares, and that there is hope for the situation. I realize that he was there for me during my pain and worst moments.
Gifting a teddy bear might seem like something small or just a normal gift but for me it’s something that meant a lot, plus he even got it in my favorite color red!
I believe it’s those little details that make love unique.
