What do I bring?
Curiosity and Creativity
What did I take a picture of?
Three Mini Skelton Statue
What does it represent?
It is the fall semester of my freshman year. I thought it would be a different lifestyle than high school, but it’s not. It’s basically just another day at school, but you’re living on school grounds. When I think about what I want to bring to YCP, I want to bring a fresh start to college. I used the skeleton to represent my expression of this new journey. I have my eyes open for a variety of opportunities that are coming my way.
I came into college undecided and found what major I wanted to pursue. I have an interest in using Criminology and Nursing to help people that are in need. Throughout my time at YCP I hope to get more information about the fields and how I can fill my curiosity through those fields. My curiosity will take me to many places, but I will always be creative in how I get to those places. I plan on using my creativity to bring more help, not just me but, also the people around me.
I’m stepping out of my comfort zone to do the things I have been waiting to do in life; especially with the guidance of God and enjoying every day, I have working towards that moment. My family surrounded me with creativity and curiosity which led me to have that as well. For example, my mother, she’s an event planner, has a lot of creativity and curiosity trying new things just like I do. I’m probably not as good as my mom, but I’m certainly trying to be.
I have learned a lot in my First Year Seminar class to make me a better person in the future. In my First Year Seminar class we talked about having will power to resist the distraction we encounter in our daily activities. If I continue to use my willpower and resist the temptation of not being productive, then I will be able to live up to my full potential. It shouldn’t be a rush but taken as a journey. In this journey I will meet many new people and opportunities that would be great for me. If something brings me down, I will get back up!
