What did I take a picture of? 

An audio interface and a piece of jewelry

During my first year seminar class I was asked to find a character trait and take a picture that I believed represented it. I was given the trait of creativity which is something that I believe that I bring to York's college campus. To represent this I took a picture of my Scarlett 2I2 audio interface, which has helped express myself creatively through my music. Within the picture I also left a piece of jewelry to show just a little bit more uniqueness, and depth to my picture. 

While just an audio interface does not directly represent what creativity is and there are for sure options that the majority of people would understand better, I personally believe that this interface isn’t just a tool but also a symbol. Despite its plain appearance this object holds a lot of personal meaning to me because of how it helped me develop my sound and further expand into my own career path and the technology I’d use within it. 

The piece of jewelry could be seen as an extra and frankly unneeded part of the picture but it is quite the opposite. While I was taking my pictures I realized that it would make more sense to not only include the interface to represent creativity but I could include the jewelry which is one of the inspirations I have for my creativity. However the jewelry is quite literally an inspiration and a symbol for the new chapter of my life that I started when I came to college. 

My photo is a complete representation of not only my creativity but also what helps to inspire it. Both of the objects in the picture have much deeper meanings than what they would lead you to believe.
