Musicality, an attribute that many people have, but don’t always have the passion to make something with it. A passion that not only motivates you, but the people you share your talents with. The picture that you see is of a steel drum in Wolf Hall of York College. The letters represent the notes of a scale and are labeled so that anyone who wishes to play it may do so. It isn’t the fanciest or best sounding drum, but as long as there is a passionate musician on the other end, it will make a great sound. When beginning my journey as a freshman music major, I found myself doubting my skills and abilities as a musician. Feeling insecure because I didn’t know as much as my peers or feeling like I couldn’t sing as good as my peers. Then I remind myself that I made it in the music program for a reason. My musicality had earned me a music scholarship from my professors. And my music abilities are what will allow me to do great things in the York music program.
