What do I bring to York College of Pennsylvania? I bring dedication and perseverance. I was forced to
learn at an early age to never give up, things will get hard but that is when you dig deep to finish. I have
gone through many things at 18, almost 19 years old that most people will never experience in their
lives. Growing up with a single parent who at times worked 2 jobs to support me, she is my biggest
motivation in life, she gave up everything for me. She pushed through even when things were bad, she
was unhappy or stressed. I am a first-generation college student, otherwise known as the first person in
my whole family to go to college. My goal is to make my family proud and show them that even though I
went through many difficulties in my life, against all odds, I made it, I did it. My mom has taught me no
matter what you finish something, you do not quit halfway. I took a photo of the inside of a paper towel
roll with my lamp light bulb at the end. What does this represent, you may be asking yourself? The
spiracles of the towel roll represent all the challenging times I will face in these next 4 years at YCP, all
the knowledge I will obtain, and the blood, sweat, and tears coming my way. The light bulb at the end
represents the light at the end of the tunnel. The possible success, and the possibility of me reaching my
life's goals. Even going through these hard things like passing biology, passing organic chemistry, there is
a light at the end of the tunnel, all this challenging work, and refusing to give up I will make it through
the tunnel one day.
