They’re several paths you can take throughout life, but no matter which one you
decide to choose, life itself will guide you to where the light is. While transitioning into a
college lifestyle I felt the idea of reincarnation. I decided to compare a sunflower as
myself because it brings warmth and positivity within myself and others that witness my
transition into maturing into a better me. Walking into the college lifestyle I didn’t know
where my roots would guide me. All I had to relay off was the warmth of a powerful star
that made me blossom that insisted in creating who I am today and who I will become. I
walked into York College with my gray petals until they weren’t strong enough to hold on
anymore. Everyday I worked on myself to begin my growth journey to a sunflower.
Being the eldest of three, The more petals that grew in the more responsibilities I
had that I couldn’t handle. At times I felt invisible and at times I felt seen because I was
mandatory support for the upcoming petals. Being the eldest of the three, my
independence heightened in power and I needed to take on a role larger than expected.
Being the role model to my sister’s I had to stay positive so then they can follow in my
footsteps.
I always found myself bringing positive energy everywhere I go. I
like to be known as the leader and take charge to put people on the right path. I see
myself bright and tall. A sunflower symbolizes positivity because when you glance at
sunflowers, They stand out by how tall and vibrant they are. I wanted to portray warmth
from a sunflower. In my photograph I wanted to get full detail of the light shining towards
the petals of the sunflower to get the warm feeling.
