『ぞうさん ぞうさん』

心止める情景に出会ったとき、いつかの記憶とリンクして私は脳内で旅をする。その感情を繋ぎ止めたい。 サイアノタイプ特有の深みのある青色は、紙の質感をも借りて個人の記憶や心情を引き起こす。 見る人のいつかの感情や記憶に少しだけ触れる試みをしている。

When I encounter a scene that stops me in my heart, it travels through my brain, linking me to a memory of sometime in the past. I want to connect those feelings. The deep blue color unique to cyanotype also borrows from the texture of the paper to trigger personal memories and emotions. I am attempting to touch a little on the viewer's sometime feelings and memories.

cyanotype-サイアノタイプは写真技術の特殊技法の一つ。 紫外線にのみ化学反応を起こす特徴を持ち、露光された部分が青色に変化する化学反応を利用して像を得て紙に定着させる。得られる像は白黒写真の「黒」が「青」になるイメージ。 像の諧調(色のグラデーション)の濃淡はネガ、薬品を塗布する量、紫外線に当てる時間などで調節が可能。 この特殊技法を「青写真」またの名を「日光写真」とも言う。

Cyanotype is one of the special techniques of photographic technology. It is characterized by a chemical reaction that occurs only under ultraviolet light, and the exposed area turns blue to produce an image that is fixed on paper. The resulting image is like a black-and-white photograph in which the black becomes blue. The gradation of the image can be adjusted by the negative, the amount of chemicals applied, and the amount of time the image is exposed to ultraviolet light. This special technique is also called “blueprint” or “sunlight photography.
