『護るもの』

魔除けをテーマに描きました。モチーフは牛鬼という妖怪です。 牛鬼という妖怪は、同じ名前をしていても時代や地域によって姿形や性質が異なります。よく知られている姿は顔が鬼で体が蜘蛛という形相ですが、他にも顔が鬼で体が牛だったり、顔が牛で体が鬼だったりといろんな姿形をしています。一般的に牛鬼は怖い妖怪ですが、魔除けとして畏れ敬われたり祀られたりもします。

I drew it on the theme of an amulet. The motif is a monster called Ushioni in Japan. Even though the monsters known as Ushioni have the same name, their appearance and characteristics differ depending on the era and region. The most well-known figure is one with the face of a demon and the body of a spider, but there are other forms as well, such as those with the face of a demon and the body of a cow, or those with the face of a cow and the body of a demon. Ushioni are generally scary monsters, but they are also revered and worshiped as amulets.

制作について 製版はエッチングの技法を用いています。ただひたすら、点と線をニードルで刻んでいます。 銅板にグランド（腐食止め）を塗り、ニードルで描画し、腐食します。 試し刷りをして、またグランドを塗布し、描画、腐食、試し刷り、と9回繰り返しました。

About how this work was made This work was made using etching techniques. I just carve the dots and lines with a needle. Apply ground (corrosion prevention) to the copper plate, draw with a needle, and corrode. I made a test print, applied ground again, painted, eroded, and made a test print, repeating this process 9 times.
