『Tidal Blossoms』

大海原を旅してきた２つの潮流が、鳴門海峡で混ざり合い生まれるのが渦潮です。その雄大な自然のドラマは、古くから多くの人々の心をとらえてきました。浮世絵の人気絵師、歌川広重が鳴門の渦潮を花に見立てた作品を残していますが、現代でも潮流がぶつかりあい轟く様は、まるで海面に咲いた花のように華やかで、一瞬で流れ消えていく儚さもまた美しいと感じます。 潮の満ち引き、古くからの人々の往来… 一瞬の時が重なり、また別の方向を目指す旅路を、渦の華「Tidal Blossoms」で表現しました。

The whirlpools of Naruto are created where two great ocean currents meet after traveling across the sea. This powerful natural phenomenon has fascinated people for centuries. The ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Hiroshige once compared the whirlpools to blooming flowers. Even today, when the rushing currents collide, the swirling waves spread out like blossoms on the water—beautiful not only in their brilliance but also in the way they vanish so quickly.  This work, “Tidal Blossoms,” expresses that idea: the meeting and parting of tides, the flow of time, and the endless journeys that people have made across the ages.

渦潮の豪快さと美しさをシンプルに表現するのに努めました。青色と金色のバランスが取れるように色作りに苦心しました。シルクスクリーンの持ち味である、クールな作品に仕上がったと思います。

I aimed to express the dynamic power and beauty of the whirlpools in a simple way. I worked carefully to balance the blue and gold tones. In the end, I believe it became a work of refined simplicity that reflects the distinctive qualities of silkscreen printing.

略歴  

徳島県生まれ、大阪芸術大学卒業 2005年より故郷の鳴門市で制作を開始 半農版画家としてメディア出演や版画講座を開講しながら、自然から得たインスピレーションを作品に転化し、東京、徳島などで作品発表を行なっている。

Biography 

Born in Tokushima Prefecture. Graduated from Osaka University of Arts. Since 2005, she has been based in her hometown, Naruto City, creating artworks. As a “farmer&printmaker,” she has appeared in the media and held printmaking workshops, transforming inspiration from nature into her works, which she has exhibited in Tokyo, Tokushima, and other locations.
