境界線ということばに、何かと何かのあいだ、接面のようなものが思い浮かびます。区切られることで、今ここに、隣があることを知ることができるともいえます。

 彼はいつも、アトリエの前を通過していきました。夜でも昼でも何とはなしに、人の手が整備した道だとしても、庭だとしても、無関心であるかのように。彼が歩くことで、いつの間にか引かれた境界は揺らぎ、混ざり合います。わたしと誰か、こことどこかの境目が滲む空間ーどちらとも区別しきれないものが、わたしにはとても大切でした。

When I think of the word “Boundaries,” I imagine something between one thing and another—something like a surface where two things meet. By being separated, we become aware of what lies beside us, here and now. He would always pass by my studio. Day or night. Whether it was a path shaped by human hands or a garden, he seemed indifferent to the distinction.As he walked, the boundaries that had quietly formed around us began to waver and blend into one another.The space where the boundary between myself and someone else, between here and somewhere else, begins to blur—where things can no longer be completely distinguished from one another—is something very important to me.

銅版画に、透明水彩で着彩しています。普段は版画でエディションをあまりつくらないため、たくさん刷ることが新鮮でした。同じ版からうつし取られたイメージが、複数箇所で同時に存在することが可能になることと、イメージの表出が版と素材（紙やインク）との関係で結ばれている（イメージの表現だけでも、素材の使用意図だけでも成り立たない）構造が、改めて面白いなと思いながら制作しました。

The images are printed as copperplate prints and then colored with watercolor. Since I do not usually make editions of my prints, I found the process of printing many impressions to be a fresh experience.

1988年　新潟県生まれ
2011年　長岡造形大学造形学部 視覚デザイン学科 ビジュアルアートコース卒業
2022年　長岡造形大学大学院 造形研究科造形専攻 修士課程 美術・工芸領域 修了。
2020年に作家・研究者らと「工房このすく」を新潟県長岡市に設立。同工房を拠点に制作。油彩を中心として、版画や水彩などの技法と素材をゆるやかに組み合わせながら、作品との関わり方を思考できる表現を試みている。

< Biography>

1988　Born in Niigata Japan.
2011　B.A. in Visual Design, Nagaoka Institute of Design
2022　Master’s Degree in Design, Nagaoka Institute of Design Graduate School 

In 2020, I established “Kobo KONOSK - Arts-Based Research labo & HANGA studio” in Nagaoka, Niigata, together with artists and researchers. I am based at the studio, where I work primarily with oil painting, while loosely combining techniques and materials such as printmaking and watercolor. I seek forms of expression that emerge through an ongoing dialogue between myself and the work.
