世の中に溢れる言葉、思想の中で自他の境界が曖昧になる感覚があります。翻弄されないように本当の自分をじっと見つめる姿を描きました。駆ける動物や囁く天使たちは翻弄する者たちの姿です。

There are many words and ideas around us. Sometimes, the boundary between ourselves and others becomes unclear. I painted a figure who looks closely at herself, trying not to be influenced by them and to stay true to herself. The running animals and whispering angels represent those who influence and confuse us.

銅版画の自宅制作に必要不可欠なプレス機をご紹介します。銅版画は、圧力のかかったローラーの下を通すことによって、版に詰めたインクを紙に刷り取る技法です。
私の相棒であるこのプレス機は30年以上前に作られたそうです。フレームは頑丈な鋳物製、ローラーの幅は45cmあります。大体38×55cmくらいの大きさまでの版を刷ることができます。専門学校を卒業後、銅版画を続けると決めた時に中古で購入しました。なんとフリマアプリで販売されていたのです。自分が生まれるよりも前に作られたことを考えると、不思議な縁を感じますね。このいかにも重々しく機械感のある作りがとても気に入っています。
ちなみに最近はミニプレス機や卓上プレス機も販売されており、気軽に銅版画を楽しむことができるようになりました。

I'd like to introduce the printing press that I use at home. It is an essential tool for making my etchings. In etching, ink is pushed into the lines and textures on the metal plate. The plate and paper are then passed through the press under strong pressure, transferring the ink onto the paper. My printing press was made more than 30 years ago. It has a strong cast-iron frame and 45 cm wide rollers. I can print plates up to about 38 cm × 55 cm. After graduating from art school, I decided to continue making etchings and bought this press secondhand. Surprisingly, I found it on a flea market app in Japan. It was made before I was even born, so I feel that we have a special connection. I really love its heavy, solid, mechanical design. Today, small and tabletop printing presses are also available. They make it easier for people to enjoy making etchings at home.

Biography Graduated from Sokei Academy of Fine Art, Printmaking Department. I create works using copperplate printing, pencil, acrylic, and other media. My work is inspired by fantasy, legends,
and mythology. I focus on creating beautiful and inspiring worlds that offer a place of comfort away from reality.
