川は、昔から自然の「境界線」として使われてきました。地面にある物理的な線で、渡るのも難しくて危ないです。静止しているように見えますが、実はその反対です。
川は動いています。まっすぐに流れるものではなく、つねに変化しています。すこしずつ形や位置が変わっていくものです。

Rivers have been used as natural boundaries for a long time. They are clear physical lines in the ground that are difficult and sometimes dangerous to cross. However, as stationary as they may appear, rivers are quite the opposite.
Rivers move. They shift. They refuse to run in a straight line and slowly change over time.

一枚の木版を使い、2色の青で刷っています。最初に薄い青を刷った後、版を少しずらして、濃い青を重ねて刷りました。たいてい版画プレス機で刷っていますが、今回はスプーンやバレンのような手道具だけ使いました。そうすることで、温かみのある質感が生まれます。

This print is made using a single wood block printed in two shades of blue. After printing the first lighter color, I shifted the block to a new position and printed in the darker blue. I find that printing each layer using a hand tool like a spoon or baren gives a subtle but warm texture to each print.
