An extra-large fence post
This 144-year-old tree has a section of barbed wire embedded deep into its trunk. For the wire to be so deeply embedded, it must have been nailed to the tree many decades ago. The tree is located on the old section of the Muir Trail but it can be easily reached from the Muir Trail by using the Muir to Muir Connector.
