Big, Beautiful Beech

Along the eastern side of the Muir Trail, as it leads up the hill and alongside University Boulevard, a big, beautiful beech tree (with son) stands in a small clearing by itself. The tree is estimated to be over 200 years old. Just a few feet east of the mother tree stands her young beech sapling son. The trail leads around the tree and continues up the hill. Beside the trail as it circles the tree is the Muir to Muir Connector.
