TRAIL MAP: Lakeside Trail
The Lakeside Trail can be accessed from the Buckalew Trail. As you walk around the Buckalew Trail across the Babcock Lake dam and start up the hill, the Lake Trail entrance will be on the right/southeast. Walk south along on the trail alongside the lake to the Turtle Watch Rest Stop and watch the turtles.
From the Turtle Watch Rest Stop, you have two options
Backtrack on the Lakeside Trail, take the first trail on the right, and continue eastward up the trail until it intersects the Muir Trail at the top of the hill.
Continue southward alongside the lake on the Lake Trail until it intersects the Muir Trail at the Lakeside Bridge.
If you turn left/northwest on the Muir Trail, you will intersect the Buckalew Trail.
If you then turn right/northeast on the Buckalew Trail, it leads up the hill to the Meadow Loop.
If you turn left/southwest on the Buckalew Trail it leads down to and over the dam to the Fishing Pier.
If you turn right/southeast on the Muir Trail, it leads to the Trinity Oaks and onward.
