TRAIL MAP: Buckalew Trail with Meadow Loop
The Meadow is an excellent place to walk any time of the year it is flat and has lots of plants and flowers, and sometimes, deer to see. It is relatively easy to get to and benches are located around the perimeter for those needing to rest during their walk. The Meadow Loop is at the eastern end of the Buckalew Trail and is considered a part of the Buckalew Trail. It is a half-mile-long mowed loop around a large natural-growth meadow located behind the North Point Baptist Church Parking Lot and beside Hunt Drive and the Hunt Apartments. While walking the loop, watch for gopher holes, blackberries, and butterflies. Three benches are located around the meadow for those needing to sit for a while.
There are four ways in or out of the Meadow Loop:
At the north end where the Buckalew Trail enters/exits.
At the northwest end near the Meadow Loop Rest Stop at the entrance to the Muir to Meadow Loop Connector.
At the southwest end where the Muir Trail leads down toward Babcock Lake.
At the south end at the entrance to the Meadow Corridor and the continuation of the Muir Trail.
