A place to get away from it all
On the western side of Babcock Lake near the Fishing Pier is a covered wood gazebo with benches inside. The gazebo is a wonderful spot to sit and enjoy the lake and its wildlife. Near the gazebo at the edge of the lake is a solar-powered fountain that provides a pleasant bubbling sound in the background. The gazebo used to be located at the entrance to Zinzendorf Park Trail but it was condemned as unsafe and awaiting destruction. However, thanks to resident Bub Manning and all the resident woodworkers at the Salmntowne Workworking Shop, it was refurbished to like new condition and moved to the lake location for all residents to enjoy for years to come.Â
