Theres something inherently wholesome about Banana Bread, or Loaf, I don't know which category this falls into and actually don't care. This recipe is not complicated, doesn't take any longer than you'd expect, and I have literally never had it fail to turn out perfect.
½ cup butter
¾ cup brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
2 teaspoons brandy, bourbon, vanilla extract, almond extract - any of them will work
2 super ripe bananas, they’ll be softer and easier to use, but also will REALLY taste like bananas
½ cup sour cream
1½ cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
½ cup sliced almonds, walnuts, or pecans
½ cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 and spray a loaf pan.
In a large bowl melt butter and add brown sugar - mix until well incorporated
Add eggs, flavoring (booze, vanilla, etc.), both bananas (mashed), and sour cream - mix well to combine - mashing bananas as you go
Slowly stir in the flour (½ cup at a time), baking soda, and salt, making sure it’s well mixed
Stir in almonds and chocolate chips
Put the mixture into the loaf pan and put in oven
Bake 50-60 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean, remove from oven and let cool
