Puffed Wheat Squares
I have a weakness for these things, it has been one of my all time favorites for as long as I can remember. I can't say this is the best recipe I've ever found, but it's definitely a good one.
Ingredients:
1 cup brown sugar
½ cup margarine
½ cup corn syrup
3 Tbsp Cocoa
8 cups puffed wheat
Instructions:
Using a large microwave safe bowl measure out the brown sugar, margarine, corn syrup, and cocoa and mix together.
Put the bowl in the microwave for 1 minute and stir.
Put bowl back in microwave for another minute and stir again, this time everything should liquid and blend together nicely.
Put the bowl back in the microwave for 30-45 seconds, when you remove it the mixture should be boiling, stir one final time to make sure everything is mixed well.
Pour in puffed wheat and mix thoroughly, it'll take a bit of work to get the wheat covered thoroughly and use all the syrup created.
Pour the mixture into a 9 x 13 pan and place in fridge to cool and set, should be ready in about an hour.
