Rice Krispie Squares
Yeah, I know, no one needs to be told how to make these; no one that is except for someone wh has never made them, or only makes them like once a year.
Ingredients
- 5 cup mini marshmallows (about 1 bag)
- ¼ cup margarine
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 6 cups Rice Krispies
- Sprinkles
- Colored sugar
Instructions
- Put the margarine in a large microwave safe bowl and heat until melted, about 1 minute.
- Pour the marshmallows in the bowl and toss to coat them with the melted margarine
- Put the bowl back in the microwave for about a minute to melt the marshmallows; after 1 minute remove and stir, you'll likely need to repeat this step again, for about another 30-45 seconds to get them fully melted and creamy.
- Once the marshmallows are smooth pour in the vanilla and stir to fully mix it in
- Pour the rice krispies into the bowl and begin to mix.
- Pour in some sprinkles, however many you like, I usually use about ¼ cup but use as many or as little as you want. Continue mixing.
- With the mixture mostly done pour a tablespoon or two of colored sugar in and continue stirring, this will fully melt into the marshmallows and leave some nice coloring. Skip this step if you want.
- Pour the mixture into a 9 x 13 greased pan (use margarine) and press down; I like to use a spatula with a coat of margarine for this job, otherwise the mixture is going to stick to whatever you use and refuse to press.
- Put in fridge to cool and set, should be ready in about an hour.
