Ashburton

The Ashburton Hakatere River Trail

A 19km shared track for walking, cycling and horse riding and runs from the Ashburton River Bridge on State Highway 1, along the northern banks of the river, to Hakatere at the coast.

There is a parking area beside the bridge, and potentially better parking and access for floats to the trail at Trevor St, near the Pony Club grounds. Manse St and a number of other small streets. There are several entrance and exit points along the trail. These include the ends of Trevors, Milton, Cochranes, River, Wakanui School and Croys Roads.
