No doubt this East Asian nation has had a checkered history (like Myanmar) but I have included my extras for two reasons. First the country has ties to the US through an infamous war and second because they have switched to polymer. It also happens to be one of the few communist countries a "Westerner" can freely travel without too much hassle/encumbrance. They're super inexpensive & "other worldly" like Thailand & Philippines.
