why collect polymer?

When I heard that the BOC was switching to polymer I figured that would mark the end of collecting.  However, as a contributing member to the SNDB (Serial Number Data Base) on the CPMF (Canadian Paper Money Forum) I soon discovered there was a lot to be excited about when the first FIVE, TEN, TWENTIES, FIFTIES and ONE HUNDRED notes were released (see previous page on 2011 Frontiers elusive prefixes). 

In addition to the short prefixes, subsequent change-overs and other discrepancies, the BOC announced a Commemorative celebrating QEII long reign and another for Canada's Sesquicentennial.  In addition, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced that a celebrated Canadian woman would be featured on the next series (later dubbed the Vertical Series).
