IRAN (aka Persia):

Iran has become very popular due to its violent past and biblical history.  After the Islamic Revolution, banknotes with Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi were quickly sought after. While Revolutionaries may make great leaders of change, they don't always make the best economist!  Iran's economy took a nose dive following the fundamentalist change in power. Every new series Iran introduced had climbing denominations with several zeros!  Hyperinflation (& worthless) denominations ensued making the older series all that more attractive.  The older the series, the higher the collector value!  Banknotes with the elaborate arabesque overprints on the Shah had 3 variations and these also became highly sought after by Iranian specialists. 

Netherland Antilles:

The odd denomination ( 2 1/2 Guldens) of the Netherlands Antilles, featuring a jetliner, makes this 49 year old banknote very popular.

Rwanda-Burundi:

I love big game notes featuring lions, tigers or elephants & when I saw this 50 Francs for auction I had to put in a bid! You are probably wondering where Rwanda-Burundi is as it is no longer a nation since it only existed for 2 years! I was very happy to win this super rare note. A Very Fine example books for $500 USD! 

Portuguese Guinea:

Now Guinea-Bissau, Portuguese Guinea is a small nation bordered by Senegal (to the north) and Guinea to the south.
