Journey Notes Available

2000-2004:

The Original series, in both FIVES & TENS, provided ample tough prefixes for Canadian/World collectors to seek. The AOF $5 & the FDY $10 proved to be short prefixes & caught most collectors off guard. With the Journey series imprinting the dates of a series production, collectors had something extra to persue: year change-overs!

With the upgraded security elements introduced in 2004 many of the TENS prefixes also proved short or changed-over (including: BER 2003/BER 2004 inserts; 2002/2003 BEK inserts/non-inserts;+ 2003 BEL, BEP & 2004 BET $10 (all short). Oddly enough, only the 2004 HOH $5.00 had a year change-over which seemed limited (or incomplete: such as the 2003 BER $10).

The most notable prefixes (other than some tough Single Note Replacements/SNR) for the 2005 Upgraded series included the TEN Dollar BTV and the FIVE Dollar APM which ended with the exceptionally scarce 2011 HAE and the less common HAH, HAJ & HAL $5.00

UNC = Uncirculated 60-68 a note that is uncirculated but may have 1 or 2 issues such as edge bumps, counting flicks, etc / C U = Choice UNC 63-64 UNC Note with no issues but is not perfectly centred / G U = Gem Unc 65-68 Perfect note with perfect centred design (no issues)

AU50-58: partially folded note but no crease, may have a fold but no damage to fibres

EF40-48 (Extra Fine): a fold (crease) or two may be evident + minor emerging evidence of circulation

VF20-38 (Very Fine): Up to 3 folds (creases) present but note is overall in good shape (crisp) with little to no soiling. Each side should still have nice eye appeal. Some design wear & edges/corners start to get soft. Issues may appear

F10-18 (Fine): Note will have several folds and wrinkles, some soiling but paper is still somewhat firm. Design wear along one crease only. Issues begin to appear. Edges are soft and corners are often folded, punched or problematic.

VG5-8 (Very Good): Note is extensively circulated and limp. Soiling and edge nicks are usually present. Extensive design wear on many creases + issues typical for this grade (stains, tears, graffiti, etc). There may be holes and the corners/sides are poor.
