The printers for the DOC/BoC banknotes have created some lovely colourful designs. They have also produced many short-lived series and several desirable short runs. This means there are ample uncommon & collectible banknotes that several collectors worldwide are oblivious to. Why? Because the dated Standard Catalogue of World Paper Money (SCWPM) & Pick # only covered a small fraction of the short-changed series.!
Like Australia, the Bank of Canada now produces polymer so look to paper banknotes rising in value. In addition, Canadian banknotes represent a large portion of Commonwealth collectors, and as such, will hold their collector fan base well into the future.
For many of the modern series, I have collected limited signature change-overs, special numbers, error notes, short prefixes and replacements.
