Hello Parents and Students,
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Conferences: This week, parents have the opportunity to meet with their child's teacher for a conference. The sign-up link was sent out during Weeks 7 and 8 in the newsletter. I look forward to meeting with you! Dismissal is at noon all week.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: We will continue with Module 2, which focuses on measurement. Students will be estimating and measuring mass in grams, kilograms, liters and milliliters.
Reader's Workshop: We will finish our Benchmark Unit 2 books, called Ways Characters Shape Stories. Our focus will be answering the essential question: How do our actions influence our lives? Students will also continue working on reading skills such as finding the main idea, sequencing, comparing/contrasting texts and answering text questions.
Writer's Workshop: This week students will write an October Acrostic Poem. They will focus on using adjectives to add spice to their writing. They will also practice typing a final draft.
REMINDERS
Return signed Weekly Blue Folder tomorrow, October 14th
Daily 20 reading log due on Friday, with a parent/grown up signature
