HAPPY NEW YEAR B6!

Hello Parents and Students,

WELCOME BACK AND HAPPY 2024! I hope you all had a restful winter break. I am so excited to be back in our classroom with all our wonderful students. Let's make 2024 an amazing year together!

ANNOUNCEMENTS

LifeLab: We will be having our first LifeLab experience on January 19th at 10:15. If you would like to volunteer to help us that day, please email Amanda Elam at amandae73@msn.com

Field Trip to Camarillo House: We will be going on our first field trip this month! On January 25th from 8:30-12:00 we will be going to the Camarillo House. 3rd Grade Behavior: This week, students will review classroom and school-wide expectations and procedures. While the transition from Winter Break back to school can be a challenge, I know our amazing 3rd graders can do it!

OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE

Math: Please make sure your child is practicing multiplication facts for at least 10 minutes a night. This week we will continue our timed multiplication tests. Students will continue to move their way up to x12, working at their own pace. They will continue to track their progress with the goal of finishing 3rd grade with their multiplication facts memorized. We will also pick up where we left off in 2023 with lessons 13-15.

Reader's Workshop: This week, we will be getting back into our Reader's Workshop practices. As a refresher, these stations include small groups with the teacher, reading to self, responding to reading, writing, word work and technology.

Writer's Workshop: Students will be writing about their Winter Break as well as their New Year's goals.

P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday and Thursday for P.E every week.

Music: Music lessons with Mrs. Higa will resume this week. Lessons will be on Wednesday's after recess.
