November 12-14
Hello Parents and Students,
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Veteran's Day: We will be celebrating Veteran's Day on Wednesday. Please wear red, white, and blue.
Spelling Bee: If your child is interested in participating in the school spelling bee, please fill out this form: Spelling Bee Sign up form . There will be an informational meeting on Friday, 11/14 at 2:35 in Mrs. Rosen's room.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: Students will continue with Module 3 this week. They will be doing lessons 3 and 4. Throughout this module, students will apply multiplication and division concepts, representations, and strategies from module 1. They use the commutative, distributive, and associative properties to help them multiply and divide. Students advance their representations to more abstract arrays and tape diagrams and begin to use a letter to represent an unknown quantity.
Reader's Workshop: Students will be taking an online Benchmark assessment on reading and math skills this week. This assessment will be completed on the computer. Due to these assessments and the short week, we will not be starting our new Benchmark unit until next week.
Writer's Workshop: This week students will write about what they are grateful for.
Science: Students review Elk Mountain Wolf photographs, look for similarities and variation, and identify patterns in the wolf traits.
