See's Candy Fundraiser: Our See's Candy Fundraiser is still going! Flyers were sent home prior to Fall Break. The last day to submit orders is Friday, 12/05/25.
OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE
Math: This week, students will begin working in their Module 3 books. Throughout this module, students will apply multiplication and division concepts, representations, and strategies from module 1. They use the commutative, distributive, and associative properties to help them multiply and divide. Students advance their representations to more abstract arrays and tape diagrams and begin to use a letter to represent an unknown quantity.
Reader's Workshop: Students will be learning about reindeer this week! They will read a book about reindeer and then write about what they learned using text evidence. They will focus on reindeer habitats, diet and adaptations. We will also continue working with our Unit 4 Benchmark books, Comparing Points of View.
Writer's Workshop: This week we will write a Winter acrostic poem.
Science: To make sense of the patterns in traits they have observed in the wolves, students investigate a new organism—fruit flies. Students make observations about the traits of parents and offspring in different fruit fly families and begin to notice patterns in the fruit fly family data.
Social Studies: We will continue with Week 21 in our Studies Weekly curriculum. Lesson 21 will teach students about using charts, reading maps, and understanding data. This lesson will discuss the population and how some areas are more populated than others.
P.E.: Please dress appropriately on Monday and Friday for P.E/dance class every week.
