ANNOUNCEMENTS

Daily 20 Reading Log: Students will continue reading a "just-right" chapter book for 20 minutes each night. The book your child picks must be at an independent reading level. If you need to check out a book from our classroom library, please let me know. Please sign the reading log folder and send it back to the classroom every Friday.

Please check to see any corrections/notes made in the reading log last week. Students know that they are expected to write book titles with correct capitalization, punctuation and spelling.

OUR WEEK AT A GLANCE

Math: Students will get their 1st math test back on Monday. Any questions marked incorrect need to be re-done on a separate sheet of paper. Please review, sign, and return math assessments by Friday.

Students will also be introduced to our Reader's Workshop centers which include reading to self, listening to reading, word work and grammar, responding to reading and using technology to build reading strategies.

Writer's Workshop: This week students will focus on writing a well-constructed, 5 sentence paragraph. They will learn how to write a topic sentence, supporting details and a concluding wrap-up sentence.
