Mission Exercise - Part 5: Current Event SITREP-1

Current Event Situation Report

Intent:

Incorporate lesson concepts learned into the mission exercise, reintroducing relevance throughout the course.

Instructions:

You have one hour to revisit the mission exercise, conduct additional research, and update your documents (created in MPs 1-4) based on information you received from various lessons. You will develop a memorandum that answers the following questions:

• Which level of the Competition Continuum is your scenario at? Why? (National Strategy LP)

• Which Instruments of National Power would the DoD or U.S. government employ for your assigned scenario? (National Strategy LP)

• Which J- and A-Staff (List specific Geographic Combatant Command [GCC] units and their capabilities) resources would be tasked to support? (Military Organization LP)

Once complete, students will turn in the memorandum to their instructor. This information will be included into their after action report in MP6.
