SCENARIOS:
You became the new Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge (NCOIC) of 20 people. There are 5 other NCOs and 15 junior enlisted members. You recently PCS’d to the squadron six months ago.
As the Primary POC for a squadron program, your responsibilities include performing scheduled inspections, validating documentation, and interacting with personnel that include Section Chiefs, CSS, and the squadron Commander.
With half of your squadron deployed, all shops are low in manpower. The operational tempo has not slowed down since the deployment and has started to affect the Airmen who were left behind. As the NCOIC of your shop, maintaining the schedule and prioritizing tasks has become more challenging.
As the shift lead, your junior airmen have voiced concerns that they do not understand how their efforts contribute to the mission.
As one of the few TSgts in your work center, you recognize that the SSgts are showing signs of complacency and burn-out. They are also struggling to motivate the airmen they supervise.
