Activity: Critical Thinking
1. Complete a web search on your groups assigned focus area(s) and spend some time searching credible sources.
2. From your search results, answer the following in your own words and be prepared to present your answers. The groups will create a visual aid to display their focus area findings (groups can use the flight’s whiteboard(s), Bucher Block paper, create a digital visual aid, etc.)
Explain your group’s definition of your critical thinking focus area.
Explain the principles from your group’s focus area.
Provide a few positive and negative examples that demonstrate your group’s focus area.
Focus area specific questions:
Skills and Traits: Identify a few things on how someone could strengthen their critical thinking skills/traits.
Elements of Reasoning: Identify a few ways someone could enhance their reasoning.
Intellectual Standards: Identify a few questions that aid people in practicing the intellectual standards.
Hinderances/Barriers: How can someone overcome and/or move past hindrances/barriers in themselves and others?
You will have a total of 40 minutes to conduct research, answer the questions, and create the collaborative visual aid.
Presentations will be no longer than 10 minutes.
