ISEULT :
“...Under these circumstances, we wish to maintain good relations…
…with the kingdoms of Cameliard and Munster.”
“That is why, should you refuse to return to your rightful places…
…we shall have no choice but to declare open war on Sir Lancelot du Lac and her allies.”
“Signed, Arthur Pendragon and Mark of Cornwall.”
EVERYONE :
…
BEDIVERE :
Damn it…
I can only imagine the face Arthur pulled when he had to come to an agreement with Mark.
LANCELOT :
Tristan, Iseult, Guinevere…
This is about us.
Is there anything you wish to say?
GUINEVERE :
…
ISEULT :
I fear that the longer we let this drag on,
the more vehement Mark will get.
I can promise to talk to my parents to clear this situation up.
But I cannot guarantee they’ll abide by my requests…
I was married to seal the alliance between Ireland and Cornwall, after all.
TRISTAN :
…
[ he stands. ]
I cannot bear the thought of letting Iseult face these repercussions.
I’ll stand with you, Lancelot.
Are we not the Round Table’s best?
BEDIVERE :
You are the best fighters, and the most praised…
…but you have no military power to speak of.
Sir Ill-fitting Coat and his army have more weight to throw around at the Round Table than you do.
BRUNOR :
( That nickname… Is this how they’re going to remember me? )
LANCELOT :
Bedivere speaks true. Arthur knows that if he was to attack us, we’d be at a disadvantage.
Open war would be akin to suicide.
TRISTAN :
Whether Bedivere likes it or not,
I’m certain everybody here stands ready to defend their queens.
BRUNOR :
Tristan, you can’t make that kind of decision on a whim.
Estrangore shares a border with Corbenic, Wales and Cameliard, all of which are Arthur’s allies.
TRISTAN :
I’m not saying we should rush into open conflict, but⎯-
DINADAN :
Alright…
…Let’s be serious for a second.
You all realize
you’re the ones in the wrong here, right?
[ cut to… where? ]
VILLAGER :
She’s back!
Sir Galahad!
Thank you, Sir Galahad…
He’s all I have left…
GALAHAD :
Have no fear. I made sure he got something to eat, so he would get some strength back.
SHERIFF :
Sir Galahad.
This way, please.
I’d like to thank you for taking time out of your day to help Elwyn.
I took you away from your quest, so you have my gratitude.
GALAHAD :
( Hehe! )
Please, it was but my duty.
SHERIFF :
And yet, many a knight manages to slip theirs.
One such knight swore he’d tell his king of our situation…
…but I fear he did no such thing.
GALAHAD :
Arthur did hear about this, he…
…
…he’s looking for a solution.
SHERIFF :
…
You’re a poor liar, sir.
GALAHAD :
…I’m sorry.
I’m ashamed to know that the Round Table has done nothing for you.
It’s been a long time since I last was in Corbenic, and…
…I could not imagine a king could leave their lands to waste away like this.
Or that…
SHERIFF :
…
What are you going to do now?
GALAHAD :
I wish to have an audience with Pelles.
I think this quest I am on will bring solutions to your troubles.
SHERIFF :
Your optimism is quite touching.
A bit naive, perhaps.
[ sighs. ]
I don’t know what you mean to get from Pelles, but
be careful.
I heard
that his health has only gotten worse.
ROUND TABLE TRIVIA
Before the giants’ war, they were found in every kingdom in Britain.
[ very different ratio of humans to giants ]
Alone or in tribes, they’ve never been numerous (about two giant families in an entire kingdom, for instance), but their presence often spelled devastation and ruin for humans.
Yspadadden was the head of the largest tribe in Britain, that of Logres, numbering no less than five families of giants over the whole kingdom.
[ yspadadden vs a human, for scale ]
His death at the hands of the Legendary Three sparked the war against the giants, 26 years ago.
