GALAHAD :
What's going on, Dinadan? Do you know?
DINADAN :
I wouldn’t go as far as all that, but…
I came to a few conclusions when I saw it in Estrangore.
GALAHAD :
…It’s Lionel, isn’t it?
There’s something about this creature…
Something I recognize.
But it doesn’t make any sense, does it?
Lionel is…
DINADAN :
[ sighs ]
…If you recognized him, I assume Bors must have⎯
RUN!
GALAHAD :
Dinadan!
[ galahad blocks lionel's blow, and her feet slide against the rocky ground. ]
Is it me you want?!
Come and get me!
[ whoosh!! ]
GALAHAD :
…Sir Lancelot…!
LANCELOT :
Stay behind me, Galahad.
VIVIANE :
Step back, you two.
Oh?
I didn't raise you to be like this.
I’ll take care of this, Lancelot.
You’d better hurry. The moment I healed Bedivere, he rushed off to the summit.
He’s quite preoccupied, if you want my opinion. Catch up to him, and take Excalibur.
LANCELOT :
Galahad.
GALAHAD :
Y-yes?
LANCELOT :
Go care for the wounded.
GALAHAD :
…
Yes, Sir Lancelot.
VIVIANE :
Come here, my dear.
[ forehead kissie aww ]
VIVIANE :
Slay your enemy, Knight of the Lake.
[ flashback : gawain watches baby mordred train. ]
MORDRED :
So, what do you think?
GAWAIN :
You have to keep your feet a little further apart.
Same goes for your hands on the hilt.
But I can see you’re doing your best, little page. <3
Keep going, you’re on the right track.
MORDRED :
I can’t wait to be your squire.
To leave this place, meet our uncle and become a knight too…
Travel around and help those in need…
It’ll be a great adventure!
GAWAIN :
As knights, we have less than pleasant duties too,
but I appreciate the enthusiasm!
You’ll be old enough to be a squire soon,
so I’ll bring you questing then.
NARRATION (GAWAIN) :
Stop it.
Stop entertaining his illusions.
MORDRED :
Maybe I’ll be the best knight of the Round Table!
Even better than Sir Lancelot!
And unlike you, I’ll keep my title!
GAWAIN :
Oh!
What a naughty boy you are!
I’ll have you know I yielded it with grace!
MORDRED :
Oh yeah?
Didn’t she beat the stuffing out of you in that duel?
GAWAIN :
Don’t be rude, Mordred.
MORDRED :
…Forgive me.
I just want to understand. You seemed so strong.
GAWAIN :
…
Lancelot surpassed me, yes.
Many things have changed since I lost my eye, though.
I can’t deny it did impact me.
I had to relearn how to do even simple things.
That said,
being the strongest was never my goal.
All I want
is to be worthy of being in Arthur’s service.
And that requires me to be strong enough to protect the ones I love.
Other knights, Arthur, Mother…
And you as well, my little hero.
MORDRED :
Haha, stop it!
GAWAIN :
( Oh, Mordred.
I do so wish
you’d never become involved with knighthood. )
GIANT :
I told you so.
Your blind spot makes you easy prey,
and I’m not stupid enough to let that opportunity pass me by.
GAWAIN :
I just had to pick the one giant who’d take their fight seriously, didn’t I?
GIANT :
My father told me tales of your crusade.
My brothers and sisters took offense,
persuaded they were more than capable of crushing you on their own.
But I saw a pattern there.
The price of our arrogance.
And I won’t make the same mistake again.
?? :
Of course.
LANCELOT :
Your mistake
was to think yourself better prepared than the rest.
ROUND TABLE TRIVIA
Every important event is followed by a feast : political meeting, holidays, funerals, births, weddings, reunions…
BEDIVERE :
And every occasion’s good enough for the king of Britain.
ARTHUR :
What? I like parties, that’s all!
The master of the house (or the seneschal, for kings) organizes the whole thing from start to finish : the invites, the menu, the venue, the entertainment…
One is usually expected to dress up, and open the festivities by commending the organizer’s work.
Servants then bring dishes out onto the tables, and everyone digs in.
One or several bards are usually present to provide entertainment and sing a few songs amidst the celebrations.
TRISTAN :
I’m not a bard, but people still request songs sometimes!
All in all, there is singing, dancing, games and drinking…
